A couple of things

1. A couple in New Zealand is not ein paar but always ein Paar, meaning two.
2. Shaving ham has nothing to do with ... well ... shaving. It just means to slice the ham veeeery thinly.
As this is about everything I've learned about (Kiwi) English so far, I've decided to do some of my blogging in English from now on. Just to avoid that my vocabulary is going to be limited to "How many slices would you like?", "We are just over now, is that all right with you?" and "This is a lovely cheese, isn't it?" one day. Learning by writing.
